Michael Lewis requests for his release from the San Francisco 49ers. He spent his first five seasons with the Eagles in Philadelphia and his current four with San Francisco. The issue is centered around a lack of playing time. Lewis has been a full-time starting Safety ever since he entered the league as a fourth round pick out of Colorado University. He loves the organization enough to take a pay cut to remain with the team. He has started the past the seasons, but has clearly not made any impact forcing fumbles or getting interceptions. Either his best years are behind him, or he will shine with another team.

Personally, this is a player who barely gets his dues. He is smart, and very scary. He kills Running Backs, Wide Receivers and anyone who come into the middle of the field.Hopefully he bounces back, and has a great season.
