Eagles!!

Hey, I know I have been missed, and I miss talking to you guys as well. Let's talk about the Eagles. Michael Vick torched the Cowboys. He threw for 16/26 for 270 yards with 2 touchdowns. He also threw 2 INT's. Neither were his fault. He's Superman. His receivers dropped the ball and they were tipped into the Cowboy's hands.

Vick celebrating after scoring on the run.

Now, out of the 270 yards, 210 of them belonged to Desean Jackson on 4 catches.  He averaged 52.5 per reception last night.

Jackson en route to a 91-yard hitch and run!!

He touched the ball 10 times with a total of 240 on Sunday's victory against the Dallas Cowboys.

This game made me very happy.

RANDY MOSS

Once passed on by the Dallas Cowboys in the 99 draft, cut by the Minnesota Vikings, traded to the Oakland Raiders, then the New England Patriots, and finally back to Minneapolis. But, he was only there for 25 days. Sent to waivers, and claimed by the Tennessee Titans.

He first played his grudge match against the Jets on Monday Night Football catching a touchdown. One more against the Pats on Halloween day, but was held under 100 yards catching and no score.

Almost played 17 weeks this season without a bye. After being claimed by the Titans in time, Moss got his bye week.

The Titans lose Kenny Britt, their star wideout with 7 scores this season. Moss's presence will be more than a substitute for Britt's abilities. He will destroy defenders one-on-one. Moss hopes to revive under the coaching staff and Coach Jeff Fisher who passed on him as well in the draft choosing a different receiver.

We'll see how the Titans fair with their first game with the All-Universe Randy Moss.

HITTING HAS A PRICE

When a defensive player leaves his feet to take down the ball carrier, it's a pretty huge hit. If he's in mid-air, do not leave your feet to bring him down, but do not carry him down either. This is football. Do not attack a defenseless player. Defenders naturally want to make a play by delivering a big blow to someone, but there are conditions. In week 6 of the NFL, there have been many illegal hits. Leading with the helmet to tackle someone will most certainly result in a pay-cut. Leading with the shoulder is okay, but making contact to the opponent's head with the shoulder is also bad. The League has made it known that concussions are a serious injury.

Two by one player - James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers - against the Cleveland Browns on Joshua Cribbs and Muhommad Massoquoi.

The Falcons' Dunta Robinson on Desean Jackson.

From The Patriots' Brandon Meriweather onto the airborne Todd Heap.

These fines can be avoided, yet enjoy football. There has been many examples demonstrated over an over. Basically, don't leave your feet unless you make INITIAL contact with your shoulder while avoiding the opponent's helmet. Also don't tackle with your helmet.

New makeup!!

The Buffalo Bills shipped former first-rounder, RB Marshawn Lynch to the Seattle Seahawks. At the same time, the Hawks cut Julius Jones. The Bills will continue to work with Fred jackson and experiment with CJ Spiller. Carroll used to gameplan against Lynch where his California Bears played the USC Trojans.

Dwayne Jarrett and the Carolina Panthers are no more. The two parted ways after he was arrested for DWi last night. Coach John Fox disciplines his team. Jarrett was a star at USC. He may be meeting with the Seattle Seahawks soon where he played under Head Coach Pete Carroll. Carroll brought in former first-rounder, Mike Williams also.

The Chicago Bears released Mark Anderson and picked up Charles Grant whom was cut by the New Orleans Saints. Grant won a championship with them last season. Both play Defensive End. Anderson was never able to return to his rookie season where he posted 12 sacks.

Jayme Mitchell is traded to the Cleveland Browns from the Minnesota Vikings for the Browns' late round draft choice.

Trent Edwards. Yes. He returns to the Buffalo Bills, but as the number two Quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was the third QB, but the jaguars had recently cut Todd Bouman. The Jaguars also signed free agent CJ Mosley who played for the Minnesota Vikings.

Weekend Updates! ! !

Donovan McNabb takes revenge on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Michael Lewis is finally released by the San Francisco 49ers.

Randy Moss had 0 catches last night in a victory, however, against the Miami Dolphins.

Terrell Owens had 9867945 catches Sunday, but lost to the Cleveland Browns. Nah, he had 10.

Milestones:

  1. Roddy White now has 5,000 yards catching.
  2. Ricky Williams has 9,000 yards rushing and looks forward to 10k by the end of the season.
  3. LaDainian Tomlinson has 141 official touchdowns to be 3rd all time. Now 7th all-time in rushing yards.
  4. Tony Gonzalez continues to add records as he reaches 12,000 yards receiving which is most all time by a Tight End.
Returns/Cuts/Signings:

  1. Ben Roethlisberger is back for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  2. Brian Cushing returns to the houston Texans to help out on Defense.
  3. Santon Holmes, WR, finished serving his suspension for Ny Jets as they cut some wideouts to make room for him on the roster.
  4. Trevor Pryce signs with the Jets for Coach Rex Ryan. Ryan coached Pryce while they existed in Baltimore with the Ravens.
  5. Darrelle Revis participated in practice today with the Jets. he pulled his hamstring while getting BURNED by Randy Moss for a score - one-handed, nonetheless.

Finally Lost

T.J. Houshmanzadeh catches his first touchdown of the season to push the Baltimore Ravens over the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. T.J, a former member of the Cincinnati Bengals agreed to a one year contract with division Rivals, Ravens, 3-4 weeks ago. As young as he is at 33, the man shows he can still run, catch, and play as he scores on Bryant McFadden for the game winning score.

Charlie Batch did have a chance to comeback and win the game, but he was picked off by Ray Lewis.  Lewis is on my fantasy team, so that was a HUGE boost for me. I love the Steelers, but I can care less about that game.

T.J, 84, celebrates with Mason, 85, and team after touchdown to take the lead.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 3-1 while playing under Ben Roethlisberger's 4-game suspension. Big Ben will be eligible to play next week, but the team has moved on exceptionally well without him. Will he start next week? Perhaps, but he hasn't been in or two practice. The man needs to practice before going back on the field. It's the only way he will get better.

Jaguars, Who?

The Indianapolis Colts (2-2) played the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) in Florida and lost to a game winning field goal (28-31) by Josh Scobee. Scobee was alerted by his holder that Colts' head coach was going to ice him with a time-out. Scobee was calm, Scobee was cool. He missed the practice kick as the time-out was called, but of course has a second one to test. Here, the Colts were pretty upset as he nails the field goal from 59 yards out, the furthest in his career.

Scobee celebrates with his holder after the winning field goal

I'm super excited that the Colts lost. There is not a Patriots fan who even likes the Colts or can admit they are a good team. They suck. All across the board, we say the Pats are better overall, but the Jaguars. . . who are they? They are now tied 2-2 within the AFC South division.
